Field Systems Specialist - Charlotte, NC

The Hertz Corporation has an immediate opening for a Field Systems Specialist based in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.  Travel (25%) is required and a company car is provided.

 

 

The Field Systems Support (FSS) Position is a unique and challenging position.  FSS personnel are responsible for providing technical support to the Hertz family of companies:  Rent A Car, Local Edition, Equipment Rental, Service Pump, Car Sales, Claims Management, and Sales Systems.  FSS is involved in the support of an operation from its inception throughout its lifespan until its termination.  Technicians are on call 24x7x365 in support of these operations.

 

All interested candidates should possess the following:

 

Mandatory Requirements:Thorough understanding of Microsoft Desktop Operation Systems required.Working experience with MS Office products and Lotus NotesExposure to WAN technologies such as Frame Relay, T1, Fractional T1, 56K, and related hardware preferredExperience in POS Systems in WAN environment is a plusExperience in structured cabling systems and EIA/TIA 568B standards a plusMust possess minimum 5 years in a technical position with heavy customer interaction and possess the ability to establish and maintain high level of customer service and confidenceExercise initiative and judgment in the performance of assigned dutiesMust possess the ability to explain complex technology and theories in layman termsRegular after hour/weekend tasks will be expected on a when necessary basisPerform highly skilled technical work involving development and support of computer related systems, networks and associated hardwareFlexibility and strength to lift 60 lbs and install cabling in less than adequate conditions with frequent disruptionsBending, twisting, squatting, pushing, carrying and overhead reaching are essential in performing necessary functionsProvide answers and technical options to customer queries Keep abreast of current technical trends and techniquesExtensive travel is required which may involve multiple overnight staysMust possess above average attention to detail and accuracy when performing daily responsibilities
