Firewall Administrator

A company in the North Eastern Suburbs of Detroit, MI  area has a need for a Firewall Administrator.


Ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operations of internet firewall and internal security /anti-virus systems.   Identifies, researches, and resolves complex technical problems.  Creates and manages escalation procedures and ensures service levels are maintained.  Documents, tracks, and monitors problems to ensure resolution in a timely manner.  Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.  Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Works with external vendors to resolve issues.  Performs a variety of tasks.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  Motivated and a self starter, with good communication and customer skills.  This team member should not be afraid of a challenge or going the extra mile to service the customer.

 

Position Requirements

-  2-3 years of experience in supporting and maintaining firewall/security systems with the following  technologies:

o  Check Point NG Firewall

o  Check Point VPN-1

o  eSafe Anti-Virus and filtering

o  WebSense content filtering

-  Experience with Linux and Windows.

-  Experience with PC / Server based anti-virus technologies.

-  Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other IT discipline.
