Fixed Income Business Analyst

" Work directly with portfolio managers and other investment and operations professionals in defining and documenting system requirements and workflows.
" Work closely with other team members, including technicians from other I/T teams, in preparing new releases and application enhancements.
" Provide on-site application support to business users on the Fixed Income Trading Floor as well as telephone support to business users in regional offices.
" Develop technical and functional specifications relating to areas such as system integration, application enhancement, and data analysis.
" Develop comprehensive functional test plans that can be executed by internal staff or can be potentially outsourced to third parties.
" Help maintain and prioritize lists of outstanding application issues and user enhancement requests.
" Willingness to travel globally during product rollouts.



Qualifications :
Five or more years experience as a business analyst in the area of fixed income asset management including at least 3 years working directly with trade order management and compliance monitoring systems.
Experience configuring, testing, and supporting front-office investment management related systems.
Strong analytical skills, demonstrated ability to elicit and document user requirements, application testing and configuration planning, and implementing product rollout.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Conversant enough in SQL and use of a SQL query tool to assist in application de-bugging and performance tuning.
Proven ability to multi-task and successfully execute complex application roll outs.

Specific knowledge of fixed income, regulatory compliance rules and rule construction techniques;
prior experience implementing and/or supporting vendor products in this application space, such as Charles River's Trading System or LatentZero's Minerva;
experience working directly with portfolio managers and traders in helping them use technology solutions to best advantage.
