GD002 Support Scientist

ADNET Systems, Inc., based in Rockville, MD, brings over 14 years of experience to information systems and professional services for the federal government. With a history of expertise in software development, computer network design, IT security, mission operations support, and educational outreach, ADNET has now expanded into space and Earth science at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. ADNET will work with Goddard Space Flight Center to fulfill NASA?s vision for space exploration and work with the Science and Exploration Directorate to fulfill its many missions.

Currently, ADNET Systems, Inc. has the following position available. All applicants must be US citizens.


GD002 Support Scientist
Provide science support for the Earth Science data products generated and/or archived at the Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GDISC), and for the data services for researchers and other DISC customers/users in their acquisition and use of products. This includes heritage, current Earth Science mission?s data, derived products, and externally-provided discipline-related products. The primary science discipline to be supported is Atmospheric Chemistry, including Upper Atmosphere, and Atmospheric Dynamics. Relevant data products currently archived in the GDISC include UARS, TOMS, MODIS, AIRS, OMI. Position will include developing scientific applications such as algorithms for value-added product generation and for support of advanced services that will plug-into a Service Oriented Architecture as part of a significant analysis and visualization capability. Develop tools to support interoperability such as to read, view and analyze special products, or to integrate products into GIS-compatible and other formats.

Requirements:
? 3 years related experience; Scientific programming experience and skill with use of languages/tools such as IDL, Matlab, GrADS; experience with UNIX/C/C++.
? Good inter-personal and communications skills
