GD004 Sr. Sci. Software Developer (2 positions)

ADNET Systems, Inc., based in Rockville, MD, brings over 14 years of experience to information systems and professional services for the federal government. With a history of expertise in software development, computer network design, IT security, mission operations support, and educational outreach, ADNET has now expanded into space and Earth science at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. ADNET will work with Goddard Space Flight Center to fulfill NASA?s vision for space exploration and work with the Science and Exploration Directorate to fulfill its many missions.

Currently, ADNET Systems, Inc. has the following positions available. All applicants must be US citizens.

 

GD004 Sr. Sci. Software Developer (2 positions)
Skilled, knowledgeable innovative perl programmer to support development of programs which optimize existing operational systems and data flows for a large science data system currently operational at the Goddard Space Flight Center. Work with senior operations staff to define requirements and implement solutions to enable unattended operations. Currently operational system is a distributed archive system, which hosts multi-sensor, multi-mission science data serving the Earth Sciences community. Conduct analysis/research and design for enhancements to existing IT systems. Prepare program and system specifications, write well-structured, easily-maintained, and efficient code using Perl, SQL, and Unix Korn shell, test functionality and support testing through operational deployment. All development activities and documentation must conform to NASA standards. Collaborate closely within the team, and provide mentoring, training to other staff in areas of expertise.

Requirements:
? 3-5 years programming experience in perl and expert knowledge of perl. DBI and CGI module programming experience.
