Graphic Design - web/TV content

Position Purpose

Designs generic, product specific, and hotel customized graphics and navigation for interactive menu system, develops HTML pages, and produces print ready materials for proposals, sales collateral and in-room guides to support marketing and customer use of company products.

 

 

 

 

Essential Duties

1. Designs graphics for interactive menu system daily that are specific to each hotel, including barker overlay (initial television screen) for barker next, custom barkers for standard power-up barkers, and menu backgrounds, ensuring designs have visual appeal and attract customer?s attention.

 

 

 

2. Designs custom walled garden sites for projects, developing backend support by using HTML, JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

 

 

 

3. Designs, produces and supports internet portal product weekly, including graphics and HTML.

 

 

 

4. Develops marketing demos for services/products (e.g., walled gardens, QVC, direcTV, dinner and movie combination, etc.)

 

 

 

5. Designs and produces materials weekly for sales presentations, including hotel-specific menu graphics, promotional materials, etc.

 

 

 

6. Produces print piece collateral weekly, assuming responsibility for product from conception through final print, and coordinating production of materials with external vendor.

 

 

 

7. Supports additions and changes to menu system graphics for each menu platform daily.

 

 

 

8. Generates flowcharts, storyboards and documentation for projects to illustrate navigation, special content and supporting procedures.

 

 

 

 

Other Duties

1. Organizes and documents resources and procedures as required.

 

 

 

2. Designs intranet sites for engineering and project management as requested.

 

 

 

3. Produces screen captures and mock-ups of menu system screens upon request.

 

 

 

4. Performs other duties as assigned. INCUMBENTS ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL DUTIES OF THIS JOB

 

 Job Specifications

 

Knowledge/Skills

and Experience

Expert knowledge of web based graphics for television use

 

Expert knowledge of GUI design

 

Expert knowledge of graphic tools (preferably Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator and Image Ready)

 

Expert knowledge of web supporting technology (preferably HTML and CSS)

 

Expert knowledge of graphic and media supported file types and uses

 

Solid knowledge of print production

 

Solid knowledge of web supporting technology (specifically JavaScript, DHTML, XML, ASP, etc.)

 

Solid knowledge of desktop publishing (e.g., Quark Express)

 

Solid knowledge of browser limitations and compatibility

 

 

 

 

 

  Education

  High school diploma.

 

 

 

  Experience

  Minimum of five (5) years experience working with web/television based content required, including some background in graphic software packages.

 

 

 

 

Supervisory

Responsibility

No supervisory responsibility.

 

 

 

 

 

Working Conditions

Works in a normal office environment.  Does not require physical activity other than that typically utilized in such a setting, working with standard office equipment, such as phone, fax and personal computer.
