Hardware Design Engineer

Market Leading Developer of Communications Products has an immediate opening for a Hardware Design Engineer in its R&D Department. 



GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

 

Responsibilities include general hardware engineering with specific concentration in the design of analog & digital sub-systems for real-time telecommunications products.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Analysis of requirements, and creation of system/module architectures for hardware subsystems.Creation of detailed design specifications for hardware subsystems.Assume the lead role in the design, implementation, test, and documentation of one or more hardware subsystems.Participate in hardware and software subsystem design reviews.Design, simulate, and document FPGAs, CPLDs, and other programmable logic.Design and simulate hardware circuits for voice/telephony applications.Specify hardware components for use in voice/telephony/radio circuitry.Create PCB level schematics, PCB component placement and routing guidelines.Track schedules and prioritize tasks to ensure that projects are completed on schedule.Analyze design defects and implement corrective action for both prototype and legacy designs.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required.A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in HW development for embedded communication systems.A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in programmable logic design and verification.Extensive knowledge of high speed digital circuit design.Experience in handling and effectively prioritizing multiple design tasks. VHDL and/or Verilog, Mentor schematic capture and PCB design, DSP experience a plus.Experience in analog circuit design is a plus.
