Healthcare Data Analyst for a nationally known radiology benefit management company

Position:  Healthcare Data Analyst

Supervisor:  Director Healthcare Data Analysis

Salary Status:  Exempt

 

Position Summary:

Specification, design, and implementation of reports supporting customers and internal operations.  Requires acute understanding of the health care industry, insurance, data and analysis methods. 

 

Qualifications:

 

?  Bachelor?s degree in a health related discipline, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Business desired.  Graduate degree preferred.  Clinical experience helpful.

?  Minimum of three years experience in a healthcare analytic or reporting environment required.  Experience with radiology claims data a plus.

?  Strong ad-hoc SQL query development skills, advanced knowledge of relational databases and MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Visio.

?  Superior data manipulation skills and ability to understand and interpret healthcare data.

?  Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to changes.

?  Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

?  Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must.

?  Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.

?  Technical writing and documentation skills are essential.

?  Knowledge of healthcare terminology and standard coding systems required.

 

 

Responsibilities:

?  Perform complex data extractions and manipulations, which culminate in the design and production of meaningful ad-hoc analyses and/or reports.

?  Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.

?  Perform healthcare data analysis, including quantifying cost and utilization, identifying trends and outliers, creation of benchmarks, and ROI calculations.

?  Design and automate regularly scheduled reports for efficient production for multiple clients.

?  Document all work thoroughly and accurately.

?  Assist with development of departmental policy/procedure manuals.

 

Environmental and Physical Demands:

Position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and prolonged computing sessions.  Ability to concentrate on detailed work with some interruption.
