JOB TITLE: Help Desk Analyst- PC/LAN Technician

DEPARTMENT: IT

REPORTS TO: IT Operations Manager

LOCATION: BaltimoreWashington (Hanover)





POSITION SCOPE

The Position supports facility end users using the Windows operating system, troubleshoots and resolves internal information technology issues, business applications and technical components, including operating systems, computer networks, telecommunications, connection to the Internet, and PC/server maintenance.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? As a member of the Helpdesk Group, the PC/LAN Technician will be responsible for supporting facility personnel within a Windows XP, Office 2003, Outlook, Siebel call tracking environment

? This position will require up to 50% travel across the East Coast

? Utilize a call tracking system to log Trouble Tickets and IT Service requests, track and close tickets

? Installation/Configuration/Maintenance of PC/LAN applications and Print/File Server

? Diagnosing and resolving hardware, applications and operating system issues

? Communicating effectively with an user orientation

? Escalating and dispatching service as directed by standard procedures

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

? Candidates must have had prior PC/LAN support experience

? Level I Networking skills are required

? Candidates must be proficient working in a Windows environment including Windows XP and Windows Server 2000/2003

? Position will require the ability to tear down and re-build PCs, troubleshoot and swap out components

? Other required skills include VPN support, network support, and familiarly with a Helpdesk Management Application, such as, TrackIt! or Altiris Helpdesk, or Siebel Service Request



Education: Associates Degree or higher preferred.
