Help Desk Consultant

Synectics has an opening in Waukegan, IL.

A Help Desk Analyst is needed to join the support center. Primary function is to answer calls arriving at the Support Center and to accurately identify, prioritize and log the service requests within the established standards. This consultant will diagnose problems by asking accurate, concise questions in a professional and timely manner and then accurately prioritizing, categorizing and logging calls; resetting network passwords; resolving print queue problems; managing crisis escalation and transferring calls to other support groups as appropriate.

 

The hours for this position are 12:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is a 12-hour work shift Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with alternating Sundays. Every 4 months, the scheduled days will rotate to Thursday, Friday and Saturday with alternating Sundays. A 40-minute lunch is included in these hours.

 

Qualifications for this position include the following:

- VPN support experience is a must

- Experience with Lotus Notes and Remedy is preferred

- Associate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, and at least one, typically three years experience in IT or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

- Good analytical and communication skills and sound judgment,
