Helpdesk, Client Support Specialist 2

Large corporation is seeking Helpdesk Support Specialist.  This person will support the Corporate Business community and labs providing first level dispatch, application/operating system support, and consultation for all IS desktop and lab server needs.  Receives, assesses, troubleshoots and resolves support requests.  Technical support will include support for LAN/WAN networks, LAN administration, Exchange and Oracle administration,troubleshooting hardware and software is required.  We have a 1st shift weekday and weekend position and a 3rd shift weekend shift available!!!! 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Communicate highly technical information. 

Provide excellent customer service and world class support in a fast paced corporate environment.

Ability to diagnose problems (install, troubleshoot, configure and repair), a variety of internal and third party applications for client workstations and servers in both the desktop and lab environments.

Effective knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, perform duties as an Exchange and Oracle Administrator; understand Sarbanes/Oxley compliance rules and regulations. 

Serve as first contact for users.  Need full understanding of installing, troubleshooting, configuring, and repairing Windows client/server (95, 2000, XP, 2003 etc.)  and/or Unix client/server (Linus, Solaris AIX etc.) 

Ability to log/update/close tickets, balance workloads brining customer problems to full resolution . 

 

Skills

Knowledge of Unix helpful, Windows NT/2000/98, Internet Security, Oracle ERP. 

Knowledge with appropriate networks, products and protocols.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
