Salary: $42,000-$80,500
Type: Perm
Responsibilities:
- Defining, developing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of the information technology architecture
- Software and hardware installation; configuration, integration, and support
- System and network management activities
- Problem management activities
- Project team participation
- New technology awareness, research, and system integration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or an analytical discipline and/or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting computer operating system software, hardware and networking components
- Excellent attendance and punctuality record
- Excellent communication and team skills
- Must be flexible and able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
- High degree of self-motivation, commitment, and integrity
- Good human relation skills
- Must show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years experience supporting z/OS mainframe infrastructure in a large corporate environment. This should include the installation, maintenance, integration, troubleshooting and support of the z/OS mainframe operating system, subsystems, and associated third party vendor software
- An expert level of knowledge in more than one of the following major system components z/OS, CICS, MQSeries, VSAM, DFSMS, DFHSM, IMS, JES2, SMP/e, USS or TCP/IP and experience with RACF, AdvantageGen, DB2, LE, CA-7, HCD, OPS/MVS, DFDSS, RMF, Sysview and other mainframe system components
- Must have a strong working knowledge of the major components of z/OS and software installation experience using SMP/e
- Experience as the Lead Systems Engineer on small to medium sized projects
- Experience across multiple platforms, including SAN storage systems, z/OS, Windows, AIX, HP/UX and SUN
- A thorough understanding of mainframe storage technologies and storage management skills
- Must possess strong problem determination and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent analytical and decision making skills
