Last year JPMorgan completed the acquisition of Neovest, an electronic execution and order management system that provides investors with access to every major pool of liquidity, including electronic communication networks (ECNs), exchanges, floor brokers, block desks, and algorithmic products.  Neovest’s front-end technology also includes integrated trading tools such as sophisticated charting, filtering, alerts and news.

 

JPMorgan continues to strengthen its global Equities Direct Market Access and Algorithmic trading offerings and is looking to hire a talented senior business analyst to lead our business analysis team and work closely with business, operations and technology partners to understand their requirements and provide detailed project artifacts. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for managing the business analysis team of 2-4 business analysts as well as developing the business requirements, functional specifications and test plans supporting the end to end delivery to the business.

Primary responsibilities
Establishes strong partnership with the business, operations and cross-functional technology teams.
Consults with businesses to effectively drive business strategies forward through the optimal use of technology
Communicates business priorities to the technology organization accordingly, in order to drive effective business solutions
Analyzes business processes, products and operations to create detailed business requirements. Communicates these requirements to the development team for the design and implementation of business solutions
Deep understanding of business and technologies, with specific expertise in the business area of this LOB
Manage the business analysis team and ensure best practices are followed
Contributes to continuous improvement and promotes leverage of successful products and processes from across IB Technology
Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets.

Essential Skills:
Has strong leadership skills and track record
Has excellent communication skills (written and verbal), explain and/or negotiate new ideas / concepts, obtain commitment / resources for prioritizing projects, etc
Has strong teamwork skills including promoting cooperation and good working relationships among team members, remaining positive and supportive during change, and building rapport and trust within the Technology, Operations and Business organization
Is results orientated accepting responsibilities and challenges that take him/her outside his/her comfort zone and delivering timely, accurate, thorough, and high quality work in challenging situations


College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience
Typically has 7+years of IT business analysis experience.
Requires experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts. Rational Unified Process experience is a plus.
Experience in business analysis for front office trading systems.
Requires strong front-office business knowledge of Equity and Equity derivatives trading, direct market access and algorithmic trading.
Holds comprehensive expertise in the software development process. CMMi experience is a plus.
Requires a strong track record of enabling large and complex projects on time, and on scope.
