Job Description

Perrigo is the world's largest manufacturer of over-the-counter pharmaceutical and nutritional products for the store brand and contract manufacturing markets and an emerging developer, manufacturer and marketer of prescription generic drugs.

Application Engineer will be responsibile for implementation and support of systems in a regulated environment, including testing, scripting and installation on user workstations. This includes, but is not limited to, the installation, upgrade and validation of laboratory automation, manufacturing and distribution software systems. This position requires a sound knowledge of cGMP and FDA requirements relative to laboratory and analytical environments, current computer software validation, current computer technology and data handling systems. The role will influence both the business and IT to negotiate successful solutions and will apply excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between IT and his business partners. Will need to enjoy multi-tasking and working with details, but is also a strategic problem-solver. Will negotiate diverse timelines and requirements, while balancing multiple projects and shifting priorities. This position will have some responsibility for coordinating the work of contractors. After hours (24/7) support on a rotating basis is required.

Required ExperienceBachelor?s degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of programming experience, in addition to LIMS is required. Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of manufacturing and analytical and laboratory control software systems. This includes, but is not limited to, the installation, upgrade and validation of above mentioned software systems. Knowledge of requirements analysis, design, test protocol, IQ/OQ and computer systems validation experience is necessary. Problem solving and root cause analysis skills are also required. This person should have a working knowledge of analytical and laboratory control software systems. This position requires a sound knowledge of cGMP and FDA requirements relative to laboratory and analytical environments, current computer software validation, current computer technology and data handling systems. Experience with WISE and SMS. SQL and Visual Basic programming experience. Experience with MS Office products and Windows server. MCSE preferred but not required. Experience configuring and maintaining lab or manufacturing and distribution systems is strongly preferred.
