IS Communications Analyst 2-Network Security  #C87

 

This position performs the technical duties involved with monitoring and controlling the performance and status of network security devices and resources; performing routine testing and analysis; identifying and diagnosing problems and/or factors affecting network performance; and responding and resolving requests for support in a timely manner. ITS is a 24x7 department. Incumbent must be available to perform duties at any time/hour needed.



 

Education and Experience:  Any combination of education and experience that would prepare the incumbent to perform the duties of the position at the appropriate level. Employees would typically have considerable related experience in the installation and maintenance of security systems and networks.  Valid ?Class D? driver?s license.

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Experience with Checkpoint Firewall-1 NGX on Nokia or Crossbeam platforms.Experience with deploying and supporting Checkpoint and Cisco VPN client software.Experience with Cisco network infrastructure systems including VPN concentrators and CiscoSecure ACS.Experience with Intrusion Detection System architecture/design/implementationExperience with vulnerability analysis and diagnostic tools such as Internet Scanner, NESSUS, NMAP, Ethereal, etc. to assist with vulnerability assessments.Thorough knowledge of information systems and network architecture principles and practices.Skill in investigating and resolving moderately complex technical hardware and software problems.Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end issues spanning diverse areas of Information Technology (i.e. client/server apps, web apps, networking/routing, server and workstation operating systems)Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
