IS Operations Analyst II/ Computer Production Control Analyst

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

2nd shift 3:30- midnight

 Responsible for the 24 x 7 x 365 operational integrity of the Arbella Data Center to include:

?  Intel/UNIX Server Computing Services;

?  Oracle and SQL Databases;

?  Centralized Storage Infrastructure;

?  Enterprise and Business Applications;

?  Batch Processing, Job Scheduling;

?  Data Center Capacity Planning (space/HVAC/telecom);

?  System and Data Backup Technologies;

?  Vendor Technical Relationship Management

?  Keep abreast of evolving technologies related to Data Centers Operations

?  Oversee day-to-day operations, including vendor contacts

?  Responsible for all aspects of production job scheduling for transaction and data processing

?  Ability to independently build and maintain automated processing schedules across all platforms (UNIX, Intel )

?  Manage process for off-site media storage.Monitor all components of the processing environment

?  Work with vendors and internal staff to resolve technical issues

?  Review and reconciliation of nightly job runs and failure identification

?  Communicate system failure notifications to Helpdesk and on-call systems support

?  Assist with level one/two Helpdesk request tasks

?  Prepare, check and ready for output distribution as defined

?  Prepare daily, weekly and monthly offsite storage backups and retrieval rotations

?  Monitor daily system performance noting any exceptional conditions

?  Participate in disaster recovery planning and testingAble to represent Operations throughout the development process of new applications

?  Insure that Operations requirements are being met

?  Identify new technologies and training required to provide production support

?  Manage the impact of new applications on in-place processing schedules

?  Share rotating On-Call responsibilities for production systems support. This includes off-hours and weekend support

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

?  Basic TCP/IP experience

?  IBM Tivoli UNIX/INTEL Workload Scheduler

?  Experience with two or more of the following:

?  Windows OS (Server/Workstation)

?  Unix OS (HP/UX)

?  DBMS (Oracle/SQL/DB2/IMS)

?  HP Openview

?  Legato

?  DataProtector

?  EMC Storage Arrays

?  Ability to multi-task many requests in an organized and timely manner.

?  Proven strengths in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer support/service

?  capable of writing procedural documentation or technical white papers

?  Ability to analyze and solve complex problems

?  Superior Organizational skills.

?  Windows Certifications a plus.
