IS Project Specialist (999)

Position Summary

The primary role of the Project Specialist is to successfully execute a specific area of project management (i.e., estimation, scheduling, issue management, risk management, etc.). The Project Specialist may be responsible for managing small projects or may be required to support a Project Manager by managing phase(s) of a larger project. The Project Specialist will be responsible for the System Administration of the VPMi Project Management application.


Under direct supervision of the PMO Manager or a project manager, oversees small projects or phase(s) of a larger project. Responsible for the following specific areas of project management: Initiation / Estimation
Scheduling
Issue resolution
Communication
Closing

Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdministration and execution of IT Work Requests. Ensure all IT Work Requests are processed through the SDLC Initiation Phase, and small projects are prioritized, tracked and completed as scheduled. Coordinate or support prioritization of projects based on business need.
Serve as a liaison between the business customers and the information systems department for development and implementation of system solutions and / or process.
Communication: Provide appropriate and timely communication to IT resources and business requester to include status of requests, resource assignments, development, QA testing and implementation/release dates. Develop and perform timely and consistent project reporting such as project status, outstanding issues & actions, decisions, upcoming tasks & deliverables, and late tasks & deliverables
Develop and maintain a master list of open IT Work Requests or prioritized small projects.
Provide all reports / documentation to support the Scottrade committees, such as R&D and Executive.
Provide End User and Training Support for the Project Management application [VPMi] to include maintaining user profiles and application configuration. Serve as liaison to the Corporate Training Department in developing and maintaining job aides and training documentation. Serve as liaison to Scottrade and VPMi vendor teams.
Ensure compliance of project management polices procedures and standards.

Job Requirements2+ Years experience with software development life cycles required
1+ Years of Project Specialist/Management Experience (Preferred)
2+ Years of Experience with Online Technology Projects (Preferred)
Familiar with Trading Systems or financial services systems (Preferred)Education:
Bachelor?s Degree in relevant field or equivalent industry experience required
PMI Membership & PMP Certification preferred
