IS Relationship Manager-Finance

Position Purpose: The Talecris IS Relationship Manager for Finance will create alignment between all Finance departments (Accounting/Finance/Procurement/Tax/Treasury), and the Information Solutions department by translating the business strategy into actionable IT initiatives.  This relationship manager will be an advocate for the interest of the business as IT agendas are developed or modified and will provide for the effective delivery of IT services to the Finance departments. This role will ensure that the business needs are understood and articulated and that cost and service level agreements for internal and external IT services are in accordance with those business needs and in compliance with Sarbanes/Oxley requirements.  IT services may include operational infrastructure support, help desk, communications, systems consulting, system evaluation, and operational system support and analysis.  The relationship manager will partner with the business by providing a single point of entry for IT requests and will participate in creation of value added solutions.  The relationship manager will be responsible for portfolio management, business knowledge, technical knowledge, and organizational know-how.

Major Tasks of the Position:

Examples of initial projects will include:

? Financial Planning and Analysis System implementation ? Gather business requirements, understand business process maps and the process of translating them to system design specifications, providing oversight of project resources to insure the timely and effective delivery of project deliverables.

? Sarbanes/Oxley Compliance ? Assist the Finance functions in meeting any systems challenges driven by achieving/maintaining Sarbanes/Oxley compliance

Examples of ongoing responsibilities include:

 

? Manage relationships with third party service providers, monitor service levels, and resolve issues. Ensure that all work is done in compliance with Talecris IS technology standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and documentation and cGMP standards. Ensure that appropriate provisions are made for disaster recovery.

? Coordinate infrastructure issues and changes with the global Talecris IS organization.

? Serve as IS Relationship Manager for the Finance departments. In this capacity, the incumbent is the ?face of IS? to our clients and is tasked with the following:

? Serve as escalation point for issues.

? Maintain a portfolio of requests for new or enhanced business systems. Work with management to understand the business importance of these requests and to prioritize them.

? Assure compliance with all applicable cGMP, validation, and data security requirements.

2. Outsourced IS service providers (e.g. IS Outsourcer, etc.)

 

Education, Skills and Experience:

Education:


MBA / M.S. with 6+ years of proven experience and accomplishment or,
BA / BS with 8+ years of proven experience and accomplishment

Skills and Experience:
Excellent client relations skills - able to establish high level of client satisfaction
Critical thinker, with strong planning and decision making ability
Understands enterprise software, security and IT related business challenges
Strong communicator with C-level executives
Strong presentation skills
Self-directed team player
Project Management skills (PMP is a plus)
Strong knowledge of financial processes and systems (SAP is a plus)
Knowledge of common software applications supporting the Finance functions
High degree of skill for problem identification and resolution where the problems may be technical and/or organizational in nature.
Experience in the life sciences industry and knowledge of Sarbanes/Oxley, and validated systems are preferred. Experience managing supplier performance in an outsourced IT environment is preferred.
