IS Support Technician

 

One of North America?s leading construction companies is seeking an experienced IS Support Technician for its Las Vegas location.  This position provides technical software and hardware support to a diverse and distributed user community for computers and associated networks.  The IS Support Technician installs, troubleshoots, services and repairs computers and network equipment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, escalation, resolution and follow-up for routine user issues, working with other IS groups to resolve more complex problemsShares the ownership of complex problems with management and assists other IS personnel and customers to completionParticipates in the creation and dissemination of technical information to coworkers and customersDemonstrates excellent customer care skillsMaintains ownership and accountability for trouble ticketsSupports remote users utilizing Remote Assistance, Remote Desktop and VNCAbility to lift up to 35 pounds multiple times per dayPerforms related duties as assigned or directed

 

Qualifications:

 Self-starter who is organized and is task and deadline driven with 3+ years experience in similar support/troubleshooting role

 Required education and previous experience: BS degree related to the Computer Science field or an equivalent in the combination of education and/or experience

 Extensive Windows XP Professional, Citrix, Microsoft Active Directory and Office XP experience required.  Familiarity with various third-party applications desired

 Experience with call center ticketing system ticket entry and reporting

 Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

 Local travel required.  Some travel (10%) to other company locations required
