IT Audit Specialists

Position Responsibilities

 

? Establish audit objectives and devise audit plans while communicating audit plans to management and external auditors.

? Plan information technology audits by understanding information technology objectives, information structure, policies, processes, and internal controls; identifying risk areas; preparing audit scope and objectives; preparing audit programs.

? Plan/conduct integrated or technical audits, analyze data gathered to evaluate effectiveness of controls, assess threats/vulnerabilities and identify inadequate control measures.

? Facilitate internal review activities, including technology & system reviews, process reviews, segregation of duties reviews, procedures reviews, and other global controls reviews

? Coordinate/present results to management and external auditors

? Provide technical and professional guidance as it relates to information systems to audit staff, contract/external auditors and departmental management

? Collaborate with management to address control deficiencies and develop/implement improvements

? Perform on-going development, implementation, documentation and monitoring (in conjunction with Internal Audit) of internal controls that will ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley

? Review operational, financial, and technology processes to provide management with an individual assessment of business risk, internal control, and the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the process as well as the risks associated with Sarbanes-Oxley as it pertains to internal controls.

? Facilitate monitoring practices of internal control measures employed to ensure continuous improvement

? Develop automated techniques for retrieving information from business application systems Prepare audit reports to document findings and recommendations

? Assess compliance with information technology controls by executing audit program steps; testing infrastructure technologies, development projects, data center operations, security, and information technology related work processes; examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.

Skills and Experience

 

? Four-year degree in Information Technology or Accounting

? 8-10 years IT industry experience

? 4+ years of audit experience in public accounting, consulting or industry as an IT Auditor

? Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404

? Experience with COBIT Framework and auditing principals.

? Ability to travel 10 - 25%

? One or more of the following certifications preferred: CPA, CIA, CISA.
