IT Business Analyst II

 

An IT Business Analyst II works under general supervision and applies knowledge of the needs of a business unit and of the systems technology to business problem solving of a somewhat difficult nature, with the objective of meeting the information needs of the business unit.  Defines and performs varied analytical systems development tasks to improve the quality of information and service to the assigned area of business.



 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

? Acts as the liaison with staff level personnel in the assigned business unit.

? Possesses considerable knowledge of the information needs of a specific part of the business unit and uses this knowledge to assist in enhancing the line of business?s competitive edge.

? Gathers, and documents business requirements and assembles all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, action deliverables.

? Create and execute test scripts, creates test plans and manages the testing process.

? Manages small to medium sized projects through the project management process.

? Researches, analyzes and creates processes for the effectiveness and efficiency of existing and new processes and develops strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes

? Participates in cost benefit/ROI studies pertaining to the development of new information systems to meet existing and projected business needs.

? Interacts with vendors; participates in the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFP) and evaluates vendor responses.

? Trouble shoots application issues within the IT business unit.

? Assist in the implementation of new application and enhancements to existing applications.

? Exhibits considerable problem solving skills to assist IT and the business unit in rapidly resolving technical issues.

 

 

Education and Experience

? Bachelor?s degree in a business or finance related field or equivalent relevant experience.

? Minimum two (2) years of business analysis experience (or equivalent).

 

Knowledge, skill and abilities:

? Knowledge of, and the ability to apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in the field of specialization.

? Possesses considerable knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures of business analysis.

? PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project, Visio Flowcharting.

? Strong verbal and written communication skills.

? Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

? Strong organizational and planning skills.

? Detail oriented.

? Ability to work well with others.

? Ability to meet deadlines.

? Ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
