IT Manager

Thorpe Corporation is seeking an IT Manager for our Houston, TX location.  This position will be responsible for the following:

 

?  Determine the goals of IT within broad outlines provided by the executive management.

?  Provide input to the strategic direction of IT, directly influencing the business direction in new and existing products and systems as well as upcoming integration efforts.

? Capture, monitor and analyze computer usage data, recommend and implement policies, software and hardware to provide maximum resource utilization in a cost-efficient manner.

? Forecast costs, equipment and personnel needs for projects and programs, reaching maximum efficiency while controlling costs, as required and related to IT operations.

?  Lead presentations to senior management keeping them informed of the financial status of IT initiatives and projects, performance against planned objectives, and future strategic directions and associated impact on expenses.

? Maintain awareness of external developments in the IT industry to improve user satisfaction, reduce operating expenses and maximize revenues.

?  Develop and maintain the strategy of the future direction of LAN/WAN and identify automation opportunities.

?  Direct the development and reporting of performance metrics and direct actions to continuously improve managing the business of IT.

?  Develop IT business and budget plans that support both the long-term and the short-term objectives of the company.

?  Operate areas of responsibility within approved budgets and staffing levels. Prepare management reports.

? Maintain project controls that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules and budgets, and preparing reports reflecting those results.

?  Coordinate and drive the business relationship with key internal partners and significant external partners.

?  Perform all supervisory responsibilities associated with the IT department including employee related issues.

?  Assume the leadership role in developing and maintaining a systems security and disaster recovery plan.

 

In addition to the tasks outlined in this job description, other responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications and Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of seven years of industry experience.  Familiarity with a broad knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies is a plus. Computer competencies including Microsoft Server OS are required.  You must possess Problem solving abilities at both a strategic and functional level.  Supervisory experience preferred.
