IT Manager/Senior Systems Administrator /

TimeSys is searching for a talented IT Manager or Senior Systems Administrator to handle the day-to-day IT operations for all facets of the organization. This is comprised of server management, database administration, network maintenance, and hardware support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide vision and leadership in integrating and aligning technology with business plan objectives. Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the Engineering IT Department and its operations to ensure effective support for organizational objectives and efficient and effective implementation of initiatives. Ensure the continuous operation of all servers and networking equipment. Maintain the communication and network infrastructures for internal and external operations. Manage the upgrades and version compatibility for all system software.
Essential Requirements:
Leadership
Directs and manages interdepartmental technology planning and coordination activities to accomplish specific TimeSys objectives.
Implementation
Maintains company-wide IT architecture. Migrate and expand current data center to increase reliability and fault tolerance. Provides direct oversight, direction and hands-on implementation for mission critical TimeSys technology initiatives.
Engineering IT Department and Staff
Establishes and maintains a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork. Enforces policy and procedures to ensure the protection of TimeSys assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by TimeSys. Develops and maintains backup / mirroring systems and a business recovery plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of Engineering IT data and services in the event of a disaster.
Process
Experience with IT systems development in a startup environment.
Experience with systems design and development process, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational management.
Hands-On Experience
Must possess and have a firm grasp of the following required skill sets:
? Deep Linux System Administration experience, 5+ years
? Web Applications: Apache, PSE, PHP, SSL
? Application Management ? Veritas Software, Postfix, Samba, LVM
? Strong Network Administration ? TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, RAID Technologies, WatchGuard, Linux Routers (Quagga), VLAN
? Security: Hardening, IP Tables, Access Controls, Audit Trails
? Shell Scripting
? High Availability clusters, load balancing, DR, etc.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
LDAP
Some experience with configuration management and build/release systems
At least two year?s experience in a startup environment
Ability to translate technical language to lay audiences
Linux Certification
Experience with PBX systems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.
Five (5) or more years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or Systems Engineer.
Personal
Disciplined organizational skills in planning, prioritizing, and documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide leadership, counsel, motivation and constructive performance reviews to staff, securing their respective commitments to Engineering IT goals.
