IT Network Administrator

Builders Mutual Insurance Company, an AM Best 'A' rated insurance provider for Southeastern home builders, is looking for an IT Network Administrator to join our top notch IT Team! In this key position you will administer and maintain support to the network infrastructure, including servers, other hardware peripherals, and associated software to assure maximum availability to users and customers.

 

ResponsibilitiesMaintain network availability to users by ensuring maximum uptime of servers and network connectivity devicesMaintain network security by supporting firewalls, internal security measures and monitoring of security systemsAssure data integrity/security through execution of appropriate backup and recovery strategiesSupport user community by obtaining and coordinating installation of hardware and software for client and server systemsProvide management reporting to IT Management (presenting key indicator reports, statuses, and issues requiring management attention, and recommendations for resolution in a timely manner)Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to network functionsProvide administrative support to help desk personnel, responding to user trouble tickets as assignedPerform help desk functions to augment help desk technician staffConfigure workstations, laptops, servers, printers, network peripherals, and softwareTroubleshoot network, VPN, firewall, router, and TCP/IP issuesInstall/maintain VERITAS backup and Symantec anti-virus softwareAdminister Lotus Notes/Domino server, applications, and user accountsAdminister Windows OS servers and applicationsRespond to service calls from user communityDocument support activities, policies, and proceduresManage inventory of company assets to assure accountability of hardware, software, and ancillary products/services

 

QualificationsBS in Computer Science or other technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience2+ years? experience in a supervisory or management role4+ years? experience administering/supporting the following: Windows Desktop and Server operating systems, TCP/IP LAN (including routers, switches, hubs, firewalls), Enterprise Email Systems (Lotus Notes preferred), and VERITAS backup and Symantec anti-virus softwareDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively, and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels across the organizationProven ability to work both independently, and as a member of a collaborative teamDemonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervisionSuperior organization, problem solving, and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a professional, time-intensive mannerMicrosoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); CCNA, CLP, A+ designations a plus
