IT Process and Quality Manager

Job Description -- Leads complex projects or initiatives which impact a function, office,
region/cluster. May have management responsibility for a team. Translates
strategic business goals into operational strategies and work plans. Works
with sponsors and other stakeholders outside the function to achieve
cross-functional goals. Applies advanced and comprehensive functional knowledge
to resolve complex issues. Develops and implements changes to processes. If
in a technical role, work has a significant impact to the overall project. Has
responsibility for decisions that may affect a function, office,
region/cluster. Regularly interacts with Firm management.

The objective of the Project and Process Quality team is to continuously
improve organizational project management excellence through the implementation
of standardized processes, practices and tools. The Project and Process
Quality Manager is a project management expert that reports in to both the BMG
Project and Process Quality Lead in BMG as well as the DS Lead.
Responsibilities include:
Provide guidance, direction and oversight for the creation and management of MS
project plans and schedules identifying dependencies, milestones, timelines,
predecessors for projects, programs, and releases ensuring initiatives are
completed on time, schedule, and budget
Assist portfolio leadership team with review of key relevant components of
approved statements of work, work breakdown structures, and estimation models
so that portfolio leadership can determine and understand the project/release
requirements from a staffing, cost and duration perspective
Work with project managers to ensure that portfolio leadership team has a
comprehensive view of the portfolio staffing, cost and duration implications as
they evolve throughout the project life cycle
Assist project managers with risk assessments, scope management, impact
analysis, etc.
Provide insight around common pitfalls, suggestions for improvement and issue
resolution/mitigation
Work with project managers across the portfolio to ensure consistent process
interpretation and implementation
Provide portfolio project managers with an objective review of project plans,
deliverables, and processes
Share mutual accountability for project delivery with project team, focusing on
working with the project manager to ensure successful project execution
Conduct periodic project reviews and post-implementation reviews with project
manager and/or portfolio leadership
Monitor and report on project and program/release progress and prepare variance
analyses
Support T&DS Leadership with annual and on-going planning and management
activities including governance, project prioritization and project delivery
Work with portfolio leadership to prepare reports including monthly Operations
Review dashboards, status reports, etc. as well as portfolio specific reports
Conduct formal and informal project management and SDLC training
Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements for project
management process, methodology and tools

Four year degree in any business or technical area or equivalent experience is
preferred plus seven or more years relevant work experience

Serves as Project Management and MS Project Server SME to the project team
Formal project management training / PMP (or equivalent) certification
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) expertise

Strong project management skills and experience in fast-paced environment and
able to organize, plan and carry out complex assignments
Formal project management training/PMP (or equivalent) certification preferred
Expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Productivity, initiative, professionalism, customer service attitude, attention
to detail and quality, ability to multi-task, team focus, strong interpersonal
skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and adherence to firm
and US IT standard operating procedures
Ability to embrace a rapidly changing environment
Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Project, Project Server, Lotus Notes
databases and Microsoft Office Suite
Must be willing to work overtime as necessary
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without direct
authority
Ability to work effectively within tight deadlines and firm schedules
Effective Problem Solving and negotiating skills
