Position Description:

DESCRIPTION OF PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
? Manage business solutions projects in support of the Portfolio Management function for Genworth Investments
? Develop, sell and implement comprehensive project plans. Develop other project management deliverables including Project Charter, WBS, Issue Log, Cost Benefit Analysis, Budgets, etc.
? Identify critical path decisions, make recommendations and influence others in order to maximize project payback
? Manage daily activities including issue resolution and communication across the execution teams to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
? Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications
? Proactively look for opportunities to create business value and improve controllership through technology
? Monitor performance against SLA's. Work with Genworth IT and vendor teams to resolve production issues
? Establish and foster a partnering relationship with the client
? Develop business process knowledge and technical skills through formal training and self-study

Basic Qualifications:
? Four year degree in IT related discipline
? 5-10 years of relevant IT experience
? 2 or more years of IT project management experience
? Experience in developing Project Charters, WBS's, Issue Logs, etc.
? Experience with cost benefit analysis, budgeting, estimating, and basic financial concepts including NPV and IRR
? Insurance / Financial Services experience
? Broad technical experience including application development
? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? High energy person capable of working in a distributed environment
? Ability to interact with and influence all levels of management
? Ability to view problems from a business perspective and effectively translate them to IT requirements

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
? Investments experience, especially in the areas of Asset Liability Management in the Insurance industry
? Experience with implementation of Black Rock Solutions (Green Package/Aladdin)
? PMP certification
? Experience with RUP methodology, UML
? Working knowledge of Internet technologies (HTML, Java, XML), Open Source Infrastructure & Application Frameworks (Linux, Tomcat, Apache, JBOSS, STRUTS)
