IT Support Project Manager

Summary:

Responsible for managing all activities and people associated with moderate to complex company projects. Takes projects from initial conceptual development, through planning, execution and successful conclusion, on time, within budget with high quality. Able to work independently and with stakeholders at all levels to achieve project objectives. Typically manages 2 to 4 projects concurrently.

Qualifications:

1) At least 3 years experience in IT project management

2) Proven ability to manage projects from inception to successful implementation

3) Background in IT Service Support

4) Experienced in Problem / Incident Management

5) Ability to write processes, procedures and standards

6) Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

7) Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a closely related field

8) Understanding of Six Sigma / process improvement methodologies

9) Understanding of Knowledge Management principles

10) Understanding of ITIL best practices preferred


Essential Job Functions:

1) Gets stuff done

2) Applies appropriate levels of project management processes and tools to effectively manage assigned projects

3) Define project objectives, detail plans, resources and schedules in conjunction with team members

4) Identify resource and other constraints in achieving project objectives - develop mitigation approaches

5) Monitor progress of project plans, analyze variances to plan and recommend alternatives to achieve objectives)

6) Lead regularly scheduled project reviews with the team

7) Issue action items and follow-up

8) Participates in or manages IT projects and/or functions that impact the entire IT department

9) Ensure timely and effective communication of project status and priority issues to all involved stakeholders

10) Concurrently manages numerous projects and initiatives
