IT Technical Coordinator

The ideal candidate will have advance knowledge of commonly used desktop operating systems, software and working knowledge of Windows Server 2003, Exchange Server 2003, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 and TCP/IP in a routed environment.

 

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

 

Provides support to end users on a variety of issues.  Identifies researches and resolves technical problems.  Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support; Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.  Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within computer hardware and network field.  Assists with development of network systems.   Assist with employee training, audit tracking, inventory control and policy/procedure.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1) Installs, tests, and maintains a variety of personal computing and network hardware and software systems, with local area network and wide area network connections.  Must have strong working knowledge of commonly used technologies.

 

2) Maintain Help Desk database and assists with maintaining inventory control of both hardware and software.  Logs calls and takes appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory response with acceptable time frames for the user community.

 

3) Performs diagnostic tests, modifies or repairs hardware to the board or component level.

 

4) Are responsible for assisting all users with their questions about any of our supported software and computing platforms in a professional and courteous manner and suggesting steps for prevention of future problems.

 

5) Assist with corrective and preventative maintenance, inventory inspection, modifications, installation, and basic assembly of information systems/hardware

 

6) Must be able to research questions using a variety of manuals and resources and to work with other IT team members, CRSI staff and affiliated consulting persons.

 

7) Travel to satellite offices to implement programs and train employees.

 

8) Attend training as necessary.

 

9) Assist with evaluation and selection of hardware, software, network-based programs, and other communication systems. Stay abreast of current news, system information, problems, changes and updates relevant to our user community and is prepared to make recommendations.

 

10)  Assist with maintenance and upgrade of LAN/WAN and communication systems.

 

11)  Produces support documentation for new procedures and changes to be used by both end users and IT team members.

 

12)  Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must have high school diploma or equivalent; must have minimum of two years experience or an associate?s degree; and/or specialized certification; and/or with delegated responsibilities.  Proven technical skills and analytical techniques required to quickly and effectively resolve problems in critical situations.  Must have advance knowledge of commonly used desktop operating systems and software.  Patience, tact and the ability to work under pressure are important.  Must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.  Must possess strong problem solving skills as well as good communication skills and have sound analytical ability.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

 

This position will require some standing, walking, bending, and lifting of light to heavy amounts.  May require long periods of sitting.  May be required to travel to various work site locations.
