Chevron?s Information Technology Company is looking for an experienced Information Architect to join its internal information technology Enterprise Architecture group. The successful candidate must have the aptitude, attitude and energy to be a part of a high performance team that will impact the future IT direction of Chevron. The successful candidate will partner with thought leaders across the enterprise with the intent of creating long term business impact and will be supported by the company in research and interactions with industry and academic peers.


Qualifications:

The Information Architect is a member of the Enterprise Architecture team that develops and implements architecture for global IT solutions. The primary focus of the team is business architecture, information architecture, and applications portfolio, rather than technology architecture or application design patterns. Successful candidates must be experienced practitioners, highly skilled, motivated, enjoy a challenging environment, able to work independently as well as in a team environment, and deal with ambiguity. An understanding of the oil business is highly desirable.

This position reports to the Manager of Enterprise Architecture and requires at least 10 years of IT experience, with at least 4 years in architecture, strategy, management, or another closely related area.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with business representatives to understand IT requirements generated by business strategies and operational requirements.
- Develop and implement the information architecture for all or part of the enterprise. (Analyze and understand the data and information flow between systems, people, and processes; design key information management processes and tools and plan for their deployment; guide the development of data standards for information interchange, etc.)
- Consult on IT solution development. Lead or participate in architecture studies. Guide architecture reviews of IT solutions as requested.
- Facilitate the development and evolution of the architecture and governance processes. Facilitate the process for approving architecture standards.
- Document and communicate the Information Architecture.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor?s degree preferred in Information technology systems, related engineering discipline, or MBA.

- Ability to work independently on complex problems and develop innovative approaches and solutions.
- Demonstrated broad knowledge of IT technology and the ability to continue learning. Must include a demonstrated understanding of the value of technology to the business.
