Information Assurance Privacy Consultant, Junior

Key Role: Support federal and commercial sector clients on business issues relating to privacy, information assurance, and security. Apply an awareness of the constantly changing privacy landscape, including an understanding of one or more related laws, rules, and regulations, including the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005, the E-Government Act of 2002, the Privacy Act of 1974, the Freedom of Information Act, FISMA, the Electronic Communication and Privacy Act, the Computer Matching and Privacy Protection Act, OMB Memorandums and Circulars, and other policies issued by US government departments that may have specific client impact. Apply an understanding of the various types of security and privacy drivers and issues impacting each sector uniquely, including federal agencies, financial or healthcare sectors, and the implications for organizations handling the data. Perform a range of duties, including analysis to support privacy program and policy development, including gap analysis, privacy impact assessments, the implementation of privacy metrics, and privacy program reviews, audits and reporting. Use law and government regulations to develop, maintain, and improve agency privacy programs.



Basic Qualifications:

-Ability to understand basic IT and information system terminology and processes

-BS or BA degree

 

Additional Qualifications:

-1+ years of experience with consulting on information assurance, information security, or privacy-related business issues

-Experience with project management tools, including Microsoft Project

-Knowledge of information security, privacy laws, regulations such as OMB Guidance and Circulars, E-Government Act, FISMA, Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005, and NIST Special Publications preferred

-Ability to meet and communicate with clients, lead investigative interviews, and capture responses in a logical and concise form

-Ability to understand the impact of information security, privacy risks of an information system, and the larger organization and how risks may affect a client’s goals and objectives while conducting privacy impact assessments, risk analysis and assessments, certification and accreditation, and policy analysis

-Ability to collaborate with team members in a consulting environment and multitask

-Possession of excellent analytical skills

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Certified Information Privacy Professional a plus
