Tampa, FL Non-profit seeks Information Systems Administrator


Associated Marine Institutes, inc. (AMI) a non-profit organization dedicated to helping troubled youth develop into responsible and productive citizens and is committed to excellence in education is seeking candidates for the position of Network/Systems Administrator in Tampa, FL. This is a full-time, salaried position, and requires highly motivated, experienced and capable individuals interested in joining AMI?s IT department.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:


Performing daily operational and maintenance activities on the corporate network infrastructure; including but not limited to firewalls, switches, routers, tape backup/monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.

Integrating, administering, and maintaining corporate servers, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange e-mail systems and virtual private networks.

Assisting in the integration of new technology into the network and reconfiguring current systems to accommodate changing corporate requirements or projects.

Performing hardware and software asset management to ensure maintenance and license compliance.

Support of existing databases including Microsoft Access, My Sql, and MS SQL, as well as any other existing databases that may need maintenance, conversion, modification data extraction and importing of data from a file format.

Database / Application development, which would include information gathering, planning, and research to determine need. Development of the program, documentation, continued maintenance and customization as needed.

Are just as comfortable changing a toner cartridge as configuring a server

Can, without thinking, translate OSI, DHCP, WINS, DNS, RAS, SMTP, WAN, and VPN into plain English.

Are willing to travel periodically to remote sites.

Are already local and do not need relocation assistance.



NOTE: 25% of weekly time will be spent on network administration, 50% of weekly time will be spent on software development and program support and the remaining 25% will be spent traveling.

Education:
Minimum - 4 year degree (or equivalent)

Desired Experience:

2+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering a Microsoft Windows based network utilizing Active Directory and Windows Server Operating System.

2+ years of desktop support for Windows 2000, XP, Outlook and Office.

2+ years of Exchange 2000/2003 administration.

2+ years C#/ASP.NET design, development and deployment

2+ years HTML/XML/JavaScript

2+ years Microsoft SQL Server (stored procedures, transact-SQL and relational database concepts)

Experience with wireless technology and security.

 

Additional Requirements:

Must have demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks, and to solve problems independently.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Strong analytical skills are a must.

Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn in a changing technological environment.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical information and
complex ideas to a non-technical audience.

Certifications are a big plus but are not required.
