The Colorado Community College System is the state's largest and fastest growing system of higher education. We are unique in the country in terms of our governance and oversight responsibilities. The System has governance responsibility for 13 state community colleges offering a variety of career and academic programs. Additionally, the System assists the State Board for Community College and Occupational Education in exercising certain curriculum and funding authority over 4 area vocational schools, 2 local district community colleges, and career and technical programs in over 150 school districts throughout the state.
Job Summary:
The Application Manager plans, directs, coordinates and implements the activities of designated projects to ensure fulfillment of the project?s goals and objectives within a prescribed time frame while consulting with all concerned parties. Responsible for overall planning, coordination and implementation of application software releases supporting the CCCS application environment, specifically the finance module of Banner Systems developed by SunGard Higher Education. . This management function includes working through college System Implementation Coordinators and teams and with System implementation teams to implement the selected software modules, with due consideration given to the needs of the colleges. Reports directly to the Chief Information Officer or his / her designee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual will be responsible for on-site implementations of business applications in the Colorado for the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). This includes the assessment ability necessary to plan and design, develop, implement and maintain systems to meet the client?s requirements.The position provides direction and guidance to function and technical team members on projects.The position serves in the key role of primary contact for assuring customer satisfaction during the implementation process by participating in key implementation activities either as a lead consultant or individual contributor. Responsible for the development, delivery and successful completion of project plans for each implementation.Responsible for the preparation of systems design documents, working with customers to apply best practices to their system configuration efforts, task and resource scheduling, delivery of implementation services and product training.Responsible for development of supporting documentation as requested by the customer and for custom consulting services as well as collaboration with appropriate resources to assure the success of the implementation.Key weekly responsibilities include correspondence, planning, and documentation of project status, budget to actual results, risk analysis and overall project status communications.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Implement standards as defined by business teams, technical teams, as applicable to the ERP and other systems.Understand and maintain documentation of dependencies between versions of application vendor software, dependent applications, and standards.Provide application training and knowledge to employees.Analyzes specific user needs, excluding administrative computing applications, and designs data processing solutions to meet these needs.May also manage the implementation and or the design of solutions on personal computers to meet local needs or to interface to other systems
Other Tasks as Needed:
Provide technical, design, and contractual expertise to other Application Managers.Review drawings and written documentation, providing written or verbal critiques, as requested.Following standards, write, maintain and document applications and processes as needed in support of applications.Performs complex ad hoc assignments related to computer functions and information retrieval.Assists in the development of technical workflow, imaging, report development, forms development, interface creation and other technical solutions as needed.Perform other related duties as directed.

Requirements:
The position requires 5 years experience and/or certifications in implementing financial systems such as SCT Banner, Epicor/Platinum, MAS90, Great Plains, JD Edwards, SAP and/or Oracle based systems. Knowledge of all aspects of a financial operation, including: Order Management, Inventory Control, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and the required workflow amongst these application areas is required.3-years in project management roles in Information Technology (IT); Project Management with Microsoft Project or other project planning is required7-years in IT support environments Minimum of 5-years in IT Applications Management Excellent communication (Oral & written), interpersonal and organizational skillsExperience with GUI and Web based applications and architectures SQL or Oracle experience and RDBMS familiarity is requiredKnowledge relating to the integration of finance, financial aid, human resources, and student information system in a higher education system is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor?s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or universityRelevant education / experience in the appropriate technical and management areas may be considered as a substitute for formal education. BS or BA in Accounting as well as CPA or MBA desired. PMP/PMI is desirable.
Salary:Anticipated Hiring Range: $75,000 annually.
