Infrastructure Architect

Join a stable and growing organization as an Infrastructure Architect.The Architect will be responsible for coordinating, analyzing, proposing and estimating infrastructure technology solutions on projects. The TArchitect is a generalist expected to understand technical platforms and application integration to architect appropriate infrastructure and platform solutions. When the Architect is not a topical expert, they will be expected to coordinate efforts for more detailed information to architect and estimate infrastructure solutions.  This individual will interface directly with business analysts, business consultants, other architects and managers within the IT division to drive technical platform solutions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
 Document the technical uses of data and information that may impact project architectures.Document production and development physical architectures.Deliver Technical Design Specifications.Define technical architecture for custom and package solutions.Define impacts to existing platforms, systems and licensing models.Conduct design and review sessions with relevant stakeholders.Provide technical estimating spreadsheets.

 

Required Skills: 
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related area required.3+ years acting in a role as a Technical Analyst or Infrastructure Architect.A solid understanding of infrastructures and operating platforms (Unix, Mainframe, Windows, Networks).Experience architecting and integrating custom and package solutions.Experience architecting distributed, data warehouse and mainframe infrastructures.Ability to fully document technical requirements using a formalized methodology.Must be capable of successfully executing multiple projects concurrently.Experience working in a matrix environment.Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.Fluent PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for communicating deliverables.Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation a must.Desire to coach and mentor others.Team and personal leadership skills.Impeccable communication (verbal, written) skills.Strong conceptual and analytic skills.Ability to balance theory and practical reality.
