The primary purpose of this job is to create, integrate and maintain enterprise type applications. The incumbent is responsible for the full range of software application development activities, as well as maintenance / enhancement of existing computer-based systems or software modules supporting one or more business areas or enabling technologies. The systems supported / developed will typically involve several technologies, including mainframes, client-server, and Web-server components as well as requiring the incumbent to be well versed in multiple software languages and tools.

Responsibilities:

-- Performs, and may guide others in performing, the full range of project software activities (discover requirements, design/assess software packages, develop, deploy and document) needed to provide solutions to business problems/opportunities.
-- Assists in project management activities by contributing to the development of project plans, estimating work, task scheduling, assigning work, cost/benefit analysis and progress reporting.
-- Accountable for providing functionality and for assuring reliability and availability of computer-based applications, requiring difficult problem solving with limited assistance and supervision within time constraints. This may require 24x7 availability on critical applications.
-- Builds partnerships by working closely with internal customers to understand their business needs.
-- Provides technical guidance and business process expertise on special projects and system issues.
-- Committed to continuous learning and strives to increase relative skills by keeping abreast of the latest developments in information technology and computer software.

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

-- BS or BA in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or other applicable field.
-- Formal training in a major programming language(s) / tool(s) is required.

Other Qualifications:

-- Typically has two to five or more years experience in large scale hardware and software platforms in multi-technology environments.
-- Familiarity with formal Application Development and Project Management Methodologies is a plus.
-- Awareness of security policies, procedures, and practices.
-- Familiarity with ISD, Generation, and Financial organizational teams and their respective responsibilities and procedures.
-- Broad range of relationship skills which create credibility, trust, and respect.
-- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
