To help us continue driving their business forward, our client is in search of (a) experienced, Interface Programmer to join their team.  Our client is a technology industry leader.

 

This is a contract to direct hire opportunity.

 

Description:

Applicant will be working in software development and code maintenance. There will also be time spent dealing with resolving discrepancies in the database. All work will be based on integrating commercial software with customizations for interoperability to outside systems. The software will provide assistance to those working in the education field and will be developed for the military. During the course of the project documentation and presentations may be required to high-ranking officials.

Required Skills:

Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related major required

Must have 2 years of programming skills

Very strong Perl programming experience required

SQL database experience required

Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision

Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Must be capable in a Windows environment with Windows software products



Desired Skills / experiences:

Experience with relational database systems and DBI

Oracle database familiarization and the PL/SQL language

Familiarization with Java, J2EE, Struts, XML, SOAP and other web-based objects

System administration experience is a plus

Parsing and regular expression experience

Prior experience in an educational setting
