Intermediate Database Administrator

One of A.C.Coy Company?s strategic Clients located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area currently is looking for an Intermediate Database Administrator

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science (or related field) or equivalent job experience required
-Minimum of three years of relational database experience required; Five years of relational database experience preferred
-Experience in Oracle database administration and configuration preferred.
-Experience with MSSQL 2000 installation, administration, design/support of backup solutions and disk space monitoring/management required
-Working knowledge of MSSQL stored procedures, Transact-SQL and data transfer methodologies such as DTS, ODBC, BCP for moving data between MSSQL, Oracle, MS ACCESS and Tandem required
-Experience with Windows clustering and network storage solutions preferred.
-Working knowledge of Tandem computing environment including principal utilities such as TACL, FUP, SQLCI, SAFECOM and BATCHCOM; DBA skills related to data object creation and management of Non-Stop SQL and Enscribe; understanding of Tandem audited/unaudited transactions and structured/unstructured files required.
-Experience with Tandem TACL programming, Pathway and object module compiling and binding preferred
-Experience with GoldenGate LOGGER and with both Tandem and Windows versions of GoldenGate E/R showing the ability to define and install Tandem-to-Tandem and Tandem-to-SQL Server replication including data sources which are either NS-SQL tables or all types of Enscribe files required
-Experience with GoldenGate support including knowledge of error and event logging, and use of LOGDUMP utility, RPT logs and discard files required

MAJOR DUTIES:
Under some direction:
-Install, configure, and administer MSSQL 2000
-Plan and support backup strategies for SQL Server systems
-Administer and establish database security
-Monitor and optimize database performance
-Supply all DBA services for Tandem/SQL Server application development staff creating tables, indexes and stored procedures
-Migrate database objects and data from development to production
-Import data from a variety of databases, EXCEL, and system files
-Resolve performance problems at the server and source code level
-Incorporate all database and data file changes into GoldenGate replication and devise procedures for production rollout and initial data synchronization
-Plan and execute SQL Server upgrade from 2000 to 2005 and SQL Server migrations/upgrades due to hardware lease expiration
-Participate in 24x7 oncall support rotation for Tandem and SQL Server
-Contribute to all corporate Business Continuance Planning initiatives including progressive refinement of recovery procedures and participation in annual BCP exercises
-Contribute to and adhere to departmental standards
