The Role:

Designing, developing and carrying out test cases for our wireless handheld devices, you?ll play a key role in taking our award-winning brand to the next level. You?ll also investigate and resolve any issues with protocol layers that arise as a result of these tests, working with field testing where necessary. Other areas of the business you?ll liaise closely with include our stack development teams in both London and Canada, and customer interface, who will take on each product once testing is complete.

 

The Context: This position has been created in direct response to the growth of BlackBerry as the leading wireless communications solution. Currently based in Egham, 45 minutes from Central London, within the year this position will relocate to our state-of-the-art office environment in Slough ? just 20 minutes from Central London and well-served by all major transport links.

 

The Essentials ? skills & qualifications:

With a degree in Computer Science or Electrical or Computer Engineering and at least three years? wireless protocol testing experience, you?ll have an excellent understanding of GSM, GPRS, EDGE and/or UMTS protocol stacks, as well as 3GPP or 3GPP2 specs. You must also be willing to travel extensively, primarily across Europe and Canada, and equally happy working independently as you are as part of a team.
