Investment Applications Programmer
Investment applications programmer for a quantitative money management firm specializing in equities. Develop and support applications and systems for portfolio managers, researchers, and traders. Project areas include, but are not limited to, portfolio construction, implementation of new stock selection models, research infrastructure, and trading tools and support. This individual will report to the investment area of the firm, but will coordinate projects with the existing Information Technology staff.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline. Minimum of three to five years specific experience in financial services applications development. Experience in all aspects of software development, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development and maintenance. Familiarity with program revision control systems. Specific requirements include: Visual Basic, C++, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL, SAS or other statistically-oriented language desirable but not required. Familiarity with vendor databases and applications commonly used in equity investment, such as Compustat, IBES, Factset, Barra, and Bloomberg, including data feeds and programming interfaces. Understanding of basic statistical and financial concepts used in investment management. Ability to work with investment staff translating financial requirements into investment software applications.
