J2EE Software Developer

Responsibilities:

Java software engineer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying web applications to support various Government web sites. Candidate will be involved in the full life cycle development of J2EE applications with BEA WebLogic and Oracle database hosted on Solaris based systems. Candidate must apply and be an advocate of established software practices such as: configuration management, peer reviews, formal testing, and group-oriented development. Position is located in Vienna, VA. Some local travel may be required.

Qualifications:

Must have 5 years technical experience developing in web technologies to include: Java, JSP/Servlets, JDBC, and/or EJB. At least 2 years experience with BEA WebLogic (or equivalent commercial J2EE application server). Candidate must have architected, designed, developed, deployed, and maintained at least one J2EE application. Experience with RDBMS (Oracle preferred) and SQL. Experience with agile methodologies (preferred), and Software Design Principals. Knowledge of information security concepts and principles, as it pertains to application and service development. Experience in unit testing and documentation and applying disciplined engineering and development practices. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to work well in a team environment and independently, with limited direction, to meet schedule and objectives. Self-motivated, enthusiastic, team-building attitude required.  BS in Computer Science or related field.

Special Requirements:

Desired:  Experience with object oriented analysis and design, UML. Experience designing and developing a web tier which interfaces to an EJB business tier. Experience developing and testing applications for BEA WebLogic is desirable, including experience with BEA WebLogic Workshop. Experience with Rational Requisite Pro, ClearCase, and ClearQuest.
