Java/J2EE Developer Position - Mid-Level

 

This is a 6 Month Contract to HIRE Position!! 

 

Description:

 

This position is accountable for all tactical development aspects of an e-Business application development project. The position is involved in every phase of the software development lifecycle and should bring consulting experience to the team. The candidate must have experience implementing successful development projects using Java and web application technologies.

 

Required Skills:

 

- Java, JSP, servlets (2+ years of experience)
- XML, UNIX, SQL (Oracle and MS SQL)
- Excellent communication skills

- 4 year degree or equivalent
- 4-9 years of related programming experience
- 3+ years of related consulting experience
Looking with someone with 3-5 years experience

- Ability to understand and analyze a client?s business requirements and design solutions using best practices for various types of projects such as portals, e-commerce, marketing and B2B sites.
- Follow, enforce and contribute to methodologies and standards during application development including coding, testing, deploying, integrating and maintaining web applications.
- Responsible for technical quality including unit and functional testing.
- Ability to excel at communicating with customers, teammates, and other internal organizations.
- Coordinates with Project Managers on all activities and deliverables to meet implementation time frames.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
- Ability to analyze and quickly learn an existing system in order to make modifications or enhancements.

Preferred Skills:

 

IBM WebSphere certifications: AppServer, Portal, or eCommerce
- Perl, HTML, CGI
- Apache, Tomcat, Struts
- Eclipse IDE, WSAD
- Agile development methodology experience
- Test driven development experience

Additional Notes:

 

They are looking for a good mid level developer who is a team player and works well working in a group. Excellent communication skills a must. Contract to hire position. They typically convert after 6 months. Conversion salary is $65-$82K with 10% bonus plan structure.
