Java/J2EE Distributed Developer

Group Overview The Fixed Income Technology group provides application development and support services to Fixed Income Trading, which is part of the Schwab Financial Products organization.  Schwab Bond Source is the Schwab Fixed Income trading platform used by all channels: customer representatives and the two self service channels, schwab.com and si.com. It is a distributed, SOA based J2EE application that interfaces with the Mainframe/Legacy back office systems


 


Position Description


In this role you will be responsible for analysis, coding, testing, documentation and implementation of new development efforts as well as changes to existing fixed income trading applications. You will work closely with the technology team and implement system solutions that are consistent with strategic business and technical objectives.


 


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will be a J2EE Developer with extensive core Java & J2EE technologies experience in Object Oriented Analysis, Development, Implementation and Maintenance. You will need excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of integration of technologies, distributed components development and knowledge of industry standard frameworks. This position requires advanced skills in technologies such as Java/J2EE, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Webservices, Web/Application servers (Weblogic/Websphere), XML, XSLT, Oracle and PL/SQL. Knowledge of frameworks like Struts and a rudimentary understanding of UML (Unified Modeling Language) and RUP (Rational Unified Process) is preferred. .NET and C# skill is a plus. Prior knowledge/experience with Financial Services and more specifically trading applications is a plus.
