Java/Weblogic Developer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Java developer will routinely oversee performance code review on developed applications. Under limited direction, analyzes requirements and creates solutions based upon user requirements. Communicates solution alternatives based upon business needs. Codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintain those programs while following the components of a systems life cycle.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Analyzes and reviews programs for production quality and readiness. Sets up and configures environment for department standards. Works with manager to define and develop architectural enhancements that improve functionality and flexibility for all applications. Formulates project plans by outlining steps required to develop solutions using structured analysis and design. Interacts with business representatives and internal clients to determine implementation plans and priorities. Performs business analysis to include definition, documentation and application design based on interaction with business community. Frequently oversees development and may direct code reviews for development staff. Will also assist in post-implementation maintenance and enhancement efforts.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated ability to design, develop and implement architecture or enhancements. Ability to handle multiple, complex tasks concurrently to accomplish goals. Ability to show attention to detail and to work in a fast-paced team environment. Solid verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Must possess strong analytical skills and proven technical skills.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience in development technologies which may include Java, JSP, Weblogic 8.1, Websphere 5.1, JBoss v3 or a more recent version, dimensional database modeling, UNIX, Redhat Linux and Oracle. Bachelor?s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
