Jr Technical Writer

Job Summary The Junior Technical Writer edits and proofreads documents, presentations, guidelines, policy statements and all technical documentation as needed.
Essential Job Functions
 Documents process and related activities.
 Gathers information requirements and data from various departments.
 Creates, organizes, writes and edits data into documents and policy/procedure manuals.
 Assists in writing and maintaining internal technical procedural documents.
 Documents development projects and provides content for internal and external knowledge base.

Education
? College degree or equivalent professional experience.

Specific Requirements (Technical Knowledge, Software, Etc.)
 Must be knowledgeable of software development life cycle (SDLC).
 Must have skills with MS Word, Open Office, PowerPoint, and other graphics and publishing tools.
 2-3 years technical writing experience.
 Ability to execute on entire documentation life cycle.
 Must have ability to work in a fast pace environment.
 Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, display a rigorous work ethic and possess initiative and independent thinking.
Additional Skills (would like to have but not required)
 Knowledgeable in areas of voice, telecom, computers, Internet, VOIP, etc.
 General knowledge of web programming (HTML) methods
 Dreamweaver and graphics software a plus.
