About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated individual to provide customer service with a focus on positive and pro-active end-user contact, through phone, email, and our internal ticketing systems.  You will also provide hosting system support and administration for both Linux and Windows OS.  In addition, you will monitor and responde to system alerts in our hosting environment.The shift to be worked is Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities are:Work through shared hosting and dedicated server customer issues and escalate to on-call or engineering support staff when necessary.Provid end users with configuration information, and assist them in successfully configuring their services, troubleshooting, and escalating when necessary.Hardware troubleshooting in a dedicated server environment.Provide support and trouble resolution to the customer base via phone, email and ticketing system within the necessary SLAs as determined by company policy.Constantly increase expertise and knowledge about applicable OS systems, related software, server configurations, and other elements that support our products and services.

 

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:Must have extensive knowledge of Linux and hosting environments.Excellent berbal and written communication skills.Ability to assess situations an escalate following proper procedures.Responsibility and dependability are a must!Ability to satisfy the expectations and requirements of all customers.Effectively troubleshoot issues and resolve problems related to application engines, web servers and database servers.System administration experience with web hosting services, such as Apache, IIS, ColdFusion, MySQL and mail, is required.Prefer some familiarity with networking and ability to troubleshoot network-related issues.Familiarity with basic hardware troubleshooting tasks, such as replacing hard drives, memory and motherboards.Experience with control panels, such as Plesk and cPanel, along with other general ISP troubleshooting,Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge and skills immediately.Trustworthy and able to work honestly with little or no supervision, if necessary.
