Junior Data Technician

Duties Include:

 Perform copying, cataloguing and restoration of various client media (DLT, LTO, DDS, etc.) containing file server and email dataPerform installations and configurations of new and existing servers and applicationsTroubleshoot and resolve problems relating to server and media issuesPerform related duties as requiredCreate destination media (CD, DVD, FTP, Internal/External drives)

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 Minimum of 2 years IT experienceWorking knowledge of Windows and Novell Operating Systems is requiredWorking knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating systems is a plusWorking knowledge of server hardware and SCSI devices is requiredExcellent communication skills and attention to detail requiredProven ability to work effectively and to consistently deliver high quality results in a fast-paced and demanding environmentAbility to work independently while being an effective team contributorAbility to handle multiple tasks with demanding deadlinesAbility to work second and/or third shift may be requiredPrevious professional experience with Veritas NetBackup, Veritas Backup Exec, CA ARCserve, HP Omniback, Legato,or other backup/replication softwarePrevious administration experience with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, or other server-based email/database software is a plusStrong understanding of personal computer-based applications in a network environmentCompletion of Microsoft Systems Engineer, Novell Netware Engineer, and Cisco Network Associate certifications is a plus
