Junior System Administrator 240-06

The junior system administrator?s primary responsibility is the day-to-day operational management of mission-critical business systems. In addition he/she will be involved in IT processes documentation and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance work. The junior system administrator will work with guidance from senior system administrators and systems analysts. On the job system specific training will be provided. The position reports to the manager of business systems.

Functional Responsibilities
? Ensure the proper functioning and security of mission-critical business systems
? Maintain user accounts and authorizations
? Install software patches and customizations
? Maintain a repository of business process diagrams
? Write and update IT procedures
? Monitor system security, performance, resources & back-ups
? Maintain, define and monitor batch jobs and job schedules
? Maintain printer device setups and manage print queues
? Communicate with the organization about major system events
? Administer EDI system and assist in troubleshooting problems
? Enforce Sarbanes-Oxley compliance rules and collect compliance data
? Assist in troubleshooting system problems
? Work with software and outsourcing companies to resolve system issues
? Participate in process and system improvement projects

Essential Functions of the Position
? Ability to work on week-ends and holidays, as needed.
Experience and Education
? A Bachelors degree or Associates degree in a computer related field. Work experience and/or technical certifications could be substituted for a degree
