KEY ROLE FOR TECHNICAL & VISIONARY SAP BUSINESS WAREHOUSE PROJECT LEADER

Thermo Electron, #5 on the Fortune 100 List of Most Admired Companies, is actively looking for a SAP Business Warehouse Project Leader to be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating SAP BW development project activities to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished as we roll out our SAP implementation across our global divisions.

* Planning, directing, and coordinating SAP BW development activities to meet business requirements.

* Ensuring that SAP BW projects are accomplished in line with business objectives.

* Leading the team that develops and implements SAP BW-related activities and interacts extensively with the relevant business unit(s).

* Monitoring SAP BW project activities to ensure the currency, quality, and integrity of the information.

* Ensuring that SAP BW development and reporting offer consistency in content and ?look and feel? across the enterprise.

* Working closely with the user community (and through the appropriate business technologists), oversees the translation of business requirements into system requirements and design specifications.

* Understanding how to leverage SAP BW for competitive advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Lead and participate in the development and support of reporting solutions within Thermo Electron Corporation, primarily using SAP?s Business Warehouse (BW) application

* Work from functional/business requirements to design and develop datasources (standard, enhanced, custom), BW objects like info objects, info sources, data targets, transfer rules, update rules, etc.

* Work from functional/business requirements to develop BW reports primarily using BEx

* Review business requirements to determine time frame, costs estimates, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to meet requirements

* Analyze and communicate report development issues, including problems with data integrity, data design, and functional and technical software issues.

* Formulate and define technical scope and objectives of projects. Prepare project related documentation(object designs, business rules, technical information, etc.) during the various stages of the project

* Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel

* Establish, enhance and maintain standards and procedures documentation

* Coordinate and respond to requests for changes from original specifications

* Document test plans and complete Unit Testing of developed objects and reports. Work with Quality Assurance business resources to complete System and Integration testing

* Provide support and maintenance of the existing BW environments (development, quality assurance and production)

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor?s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related area required; MBA preferred

* 5-8 years' IT experience, a minimum of 2 years with SAP R/3 modules (SD, MM and FI) is required

* Minimum of 3 years' experience using SAP BW 3.0 or higher

* Minimum of 3 years' project management experience, with a proven track record of successful systems implementations

* Strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills required, as well as strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

* Experience with SAP R/3 development (ABAP programs, data dictionary objects, infosets, transports, etc.)

* Strong knowledge of R3 SAP modules; CRM knowledge a plus

* Experience with flat file implementations is required

* Knowledge of an ETL tool and experience with SAP XI is a plus

* Experience with project estimation techniques

* Understanding of common client/server environments (Windows NT, Unix flavors) as well as legacy back ends

* Familiarity with database environments (e.g., Oracle, SQL)

* Strong customer management skills and a commitment to a high level of customer service
