LAN/WAN Network Architect/Manager

Position Summary

Pride International is seeking a LAN/WAN Network Architect/Manager to maintain and support the Pride?s enterprise data and telephony network and participate in various projects to continually improve the efficiency and security of the network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be Guru level for Network design, architecture, security and support. Position will be ?hands on? and will directly participate at a senior level in the day to day maintenance and support of the internal data and voice network. This is comprised of LAN/WAN and telephony responsibilities within the local data center and all other locations across the company. The scope of responsibilities is broad and all encompassing within the data network arena; touching everything from senior level planning/design, ordering circuits/routers/switches, element installs and maintenance, tier-1/tier-2/tier-3 level troubleshooting, network security, etc. This position may also provide the Project manager role for small to medium-sized network projects and/or provide the Network Technical Lead role for other projects. ? Requires EXPERT level understanding and ability to work with telecommunication technologies and protocols like:

? DS1, DS3, ATM, Frame Relay, Internet, Firewalls, IDS, IPSEC, GRE, VPN, MTU, ACLs, MPLS, IP, VolP, Switching, SNMP, H.323, SIP, TCP/IP, UDP, NAT, ICMP, OSPF, BGP, Complex Routing Architectures, Redistribution, Ethernet, HSRP, DHCP, DNS, and be able to understand any new technology that helps our customers

? Network planning, design, and support

? Configurations and upgrades

? -2nd & 3rd-level problem identification and solving of hardware, software, network carrier, and security issues

? Manage and Maintain:

? all data network documentation (including design drawings and circuit information)

? keep detailed count of all data network circuits and elements

? Order data circuits and manage the associated carrier accounts

? All data network elements including testing, firmware upgrades, IOS configurations, patches, and updates

? Data network security and performance monitoring

? Prevent and/or identify bottlenecks in a complex communications infrastructure

? Tier-1/Tier-2/Tier-3 troubleshooting of LAN/WAN, including data circuits and data network elements, disaster avoidance planning and execution

? Senior level planning related to network growth, consolidations, and rebuilds

? Senior level interface/partner with IT Datacenter Operations, IT Architecture, Application and Desktop SupportQualifications

Education:

? Bachelor?s degree; Masters degree preferred.

Professional Requirements

? 8-10 years of professional experience.

? Familiar with operations centers with dependent branches.

? Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)

? CISCO product knowledge- CISCO Routers/Switches IOS/configurations

? 3COM NBX VOIP Phone System knowledge (or equivalent)

? Solid Data Network circuit knowledge

? Data/Voice cabling Experience

? Network Security Best Practices

? Work effectively in a dynamic environment where shifting priorities frequently alter work plans.

? Excellent oral and written communication skills in both a technical & non-technical environment.

? Requires solid analysis, planning and organizational skills; capable of structuring and planning infrastructure projects, managing and reporting on them throughout.

? Candidate must have prior global hands-on technical ability as well as management skills.

? Excellent customer service skills required.

? Proof of working well with co-workers and superiors in a team-based environment

? Good track record of work experience in projects and task management, with the ability to prioritize and follow through with plans

? Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on assigned projects Advanced skills with networking technology and the TCP/IP communication protocol

? Advanced knowledge of security architecture

? Experience with network and host-based intrusion detection technology

? Ability to work in a changing environment while maintaining a high level of quality and productivity

? Must be able to function as a member of a team but able to work and remain productive while working alone

? Able to maintain a professional manner during difficult escalation situations

? Present a professional image in customer fronting situations

Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, and Other Requirements:

? Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

? Must complete safety orientation prior to visiting rig location, and annual thereafter (if applicable).

? Current CISCO Certifications preferred

? Bilingual a plus
