LAN/WAN Technologist II - (L-3/ISWacoJB21424)

Responsible for managing various network projects, recommending solutions to network problems, and providing network engineering options in a multi platform multi protocol environment.
Duties will include network design, and engineering for a large multi-protocol enterprise network. Installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and tuning of enterprise networking equipment such as routers, bridges, gateways, switches, and hubs.
Develop detailed network specifications based upon client requirements and adherence to standards in support of new scope work. Perform critical evaluations of network and develop recommendations for improvement. Perform network analysis, and capacity planning.
Will be working with various network equipment vendors in providing problem resolution and root cause analysis after problems have been resolved.
Candidate will be required to interface with various departments in order to identify and design project solutions to meet business needs in an expeditious and professional manner.
Responsible for frequent project status briefings and interface with management and with various functional areas within the company. Other duties as required.

Required Skills/Training: Technical Bachelor degree or equivalent + 2 yrs experience in the development, design, and on-going support of information technology infrastructure. Excellent written & oral communication skills. Ability to work alone or within a team environment. Must be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. 7x24 on call availability. Must be able to work overtime as required.

Desired Skills/Training/Experience: Strong experiential or certification expertise in a wide range of infrastructure & electronic communication component technologies.

Physical Requirements: Require sitting, walking, standing for extended periods of time, must be able to lift/maneuver up to 25 pounds.
