As a Lead Software Engineer, this role conducts a full range of software development life cycle tasks, including the delivery of code that is on time, unit tested, and of the highest quality for our HMI Proprietary CiTDB Data Entry System. This position includes work in the following languages/environments: Visual Basic, (PC) COBOL, and IBM DB/2.  The successful candidate will plan, conduct and coordinate the analysis, design and implementation of our global data entry system to meet user and business schedules and requirements.  The position shares DB/2 Database Administrator responsibilities. The successful candidate will provide technical advice and consultation on difficult analysis and programming tasks requiring advanced techniques.  The candidate will be expected to maintain a high degree of knowledge of software industry standards and practices and provide input on appropriate new techniques.  Input to the group?s Director and, where appropriate, the Applications Architect on the overall product directions, vision, and architecture will be solicited and welcomed.

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

 BSCS degree or equivalent, Masters a plus.7-10 years applications programming, including analysis and design activities in a business environment.  Knowledge of UML a plus.Superior knowledge of programming concepts and languages (specifically COBOL and Visual Basic) in aWindows PC environment.  Experience developing client-server and browser-based applications (including knowledge of HTML and XML).Strong Relational Database experience including the ability to analyze and tune database transactions for optimal performance. Experience with IBM DB/2 a plus.A demonstrated ability to accurately complete complex programming assignments in a timely manner.Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently as well as within a small group. Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written) when interacting with both technical and non-technical internal and external clients Ability to assist and train programmers as well as end users.  Knowledge of Harte-Hanks CITDB product a plus.
